Joe Domitrowich has a keen interest in arranging and performing a broad and diverse variety in genre of music on acoustic, digital accordion. While it goes without saying that Joe plays all the traditional Euro-ethnic tunes you would naturally expect to hear on accordion, his repertoire also extends to the music of well-known groups or artists — some of which you will be surprised to hear performed on accordion … and many are those evergreen tunes from years gone by that just don't ever seem to lose their appeal.

Joe is an artist, performing live music that is both entertaining and technically challenging to perform. His music is full and vibrant and is performed either as a soloist or by one of several bands described below.

Whether music for a formal concert, a ballroom dance event, or a wedding (ceremony, aperitif, or reception), anniversary, birthday, Bar Mitzvah, or other dinner or theme party - small and intimate, or large and celebratorius - Joe formats his music, either as a soloist or with just the right size and configuration of band, to fit your occasion and your budget, including the right professional sound enhancement system for your venue. Be it a solo performance for an intimate occasion in your home, or a dance band for a large party venue, or something in-between, contact Joe to describe your event and explore how he can help.

Please click on any of the links below for a more extensive description of each configuration.

 From Strauss to Santana

Inspired by his affinity for the traditional acoustic accordion along with his keen interest in the musical potentials attainable through the use of modern midi technology, Joe delivers a highly entertaining and unique creative solo performance with broad audience appeal. Whether emulating the familiar lilt of a Strauss waltz reminiscent of a full orchestral performance by Andre Previn, the big sound of an entire 1940s 'Big Band' playing In the Mood, or the syncopated Latin-jazz rhythm of Tito Puente as performed by Santana, Joe delights audiences with colorful arrangements and surprises listeners with entertaining live solo performances of his music. And, of course, Joe plays all your Euro-ethnic favorites, e.g. Tyrolean, Italian … a touch of each of the countries of Europe. (For highlights from Joe's repertoire, click here.) And, his solo performances are rich and full, complete with three and four-part vocal harmonies … all live!

Joe performs regularly at Lugano Swiss Bistro in Carmel, CA.

Alpiners U S A

The 'Alpiners' is in our name because we play the best in the music of Europe, starting with those countries centered around the Alps and moving outward in all directions, e.g. Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Scandinavia, Czech Republic, Hungary and beyond. And, the 'U S A' is in our name because we deliver a lively mix of the best in ballroom and 40s/50s/60s evergreen dance music from right here at home … and it's the 'real thing' … it sounds exactly like you expect that genre of music to sound. The Alpiners U S A band - varying in size from 2 to four pieces - enjoys a large following of dancers and listeners as it performs for diverse audiences in clubs, restaurants and private parties throughout the Bay Area.

Alpiners U S A Oktoberfest Band

An authentic Oktoberfest band that performs at festivals far and wide, this extension of the Alpiners U S A band expands up to five, or even six, pieces for large Oktoberfest events. It has performed televised at the huge Musikfest in eastern PA (http://www.Musikfest.org) to live audiences of thousands. As the original band to perform at the first Campbell, CA Oktoberfest and street fair years ago, it still performs annually as the headline entertainment for that two-day event with over ten thousand attendees. Authentic Bavarian yodeling and vocals by Margot Turrell are a favorite of audiences around the country. With its ability to play both American music of the 50s and 60s, along with the best in ethnic music of Germany and Austria, this band is on par with the best bands playing local festivals all around Germany and Austria today.
